John was born in Suadiye, Turkey, son of Michael and Karime (Attick) Deeb. He attended schools in Turkey and as a young man, he left Turkey in pursuit of education and attended the American University, Beirut, Lebanon and worked as a former air traffic controller. He immigrated with his family in 1960 to Danbury and played an active role in his community throughout his life. When you walk into St George, you will see a chair and a desk where John Deeb served God and the Church for many years. I'll always remember him offering his hand, a smile, some bread to the kids and a "Kifek my friend". I'm sorry I can't give my condolences in person, but my prayers are with you Lily Deeb and family.
Love,

John Deeb was always the first face I saw walking into church on Sundays for many years. He was the first to say hello to and was genuinely happy to see everyone. On Easter, every year without fail, our priest knocks on the closed doors. From the other side, John Deebs voice would call out "Who is this King of Glory". I know I share this fond memory and others with many members of our parish. We will miss John and he will always have a special place in our church and hearts.
