I was shocked to see this. John was my store manager at Grand Union in Fairfield. This was back in the late 80's. John was a great guy with a dry sense of humor. You never knew if he was serious or joking. He was a very nice man and was responsible for me getting promoted to grocery manager. I have not seen or spoken to him since Grand Union closed but have run into his brother at Stop and Shop a couple of times and always asked about him. Again, I am so shocked to hear about this. He was too young. To all of the Legan family my heart goes out to all of you.

John was an amazing, hardworking man. He was a very loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and godfather. As young adults & parents we spent many years all together celebrating birthdays, holidays, vacations, religious events, dinners & cousin sleepovers. With our children being so close in age, we always had a good time & made great memories in which we cherish. John was the perfect host. He was very funny and had a dry sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes on people. We loved and will miss John deeply. We lost a loved one but gained an angel watching over us from above. Our heartfelt sympathy to you and yours at this sad time.
