Kathryn Mallory O'Dell
Kathryn Malloy O'Dell was born on April 2, 1953, in Teaneck, New Jersey, to John J. Malloy and Mary Langan Malloy. She moved with her family to Ridgefield, CT, where she attended Ridgefield High School. After her high school graduation in 1971, she attended Rosemont College in Bryn Mawr, PA, where she earned a BS in psychology in 1975. Throughout her high school and college years, Kathy pursued her two loves - horseback riding and show jumping competition, with her beloved horse, Teddy, and trapshooting. Taught trapshooting by her father, who was a multi-year CT State champion, Kathy captured the CT State women's and handicap championships in 1974 and 1975, in addition to competing in many national trap shooting championships in Vandalla, Ohio.
She worked in the pharmaceutical industry, as a regulatory specialist, first for Boehringer Ingelheim and later as an independent consultant. She subsequently earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from American University. When she retired to her home in Bridgewater, CT, Kathy enjoyed gardening and volunteering at a no kill animal shelter in New Milford.
Her parents predeceased her, but she is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Albert (Bo) O'Dell, her cherished second mother, Helen Malloy, her sister, Eileen A. Malloy (Jim McLachlan), her nieces, Mary Karowski (Rick Karowski) and Christina McLachlan, and four grandchildren, Kailan, Abby, Maddy, and Tate O'Dell.
Kathy passed away on September 30, 2025, after a brief illness. She was a woman who lived her life with passion and love for her family. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
