Linda Clapp Obituary

Linda Jean (Sherman) Clapp
Dec. 16, 1943 - Apr. 21, 2025
Linda Jean (Sherman) Clapp, 81, of Bethel, cherished wife of Charles "Skip" Clapp, died on Monday, April 21st, at Danbury Hospital. Surrounded by loved ones, and after a nice prayer was said, Skip was talking to her and, after a bit, her heart gently stopped. She was born in Mount Kisco, NY, on December 16, 1943, daughter of the late Harry Everett and Marjorie Edna (O'Dell) Sherman. She was a graduate of Bethel High School, class of 1961. She was a long-time member of St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury.
While her daughters were growing up, she worked part-time, so she could be home when they were. She spent the last 35+ years of her career as the Receptionist at Collins and Hanafin law firm.
Her favorite part of her life was her family. She was the ultimate planner. She could plan an event and was successful in making sure that everyone was happy.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Skip, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Susan Lynn Myers and her husband Robert; her four grandchildren, Evan M. Ellis, Megan M. Myers, Beth Anne Myers and Lindsey M. Fish and her husband Kyle. She is also survived by her sisters, Marjorie Sherman and Judy Schewe; her sister-in-law, Cathy Clapp; and her son-in-law, Bruce Kubisek.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Elaine Kubisek; her granddaughter, Casey Anna Ellis; her brother, Harry "Bud" Sherman; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Butler.
Linda's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday April 27th from 2 to 4PM at Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 28 at 10:30AM at St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury. To leave a condolence please visit www.CornellMemorial.com

To Lindsay and Kyle
I am privileged to be Kyle`s boss. And I´m sure I speak for everybody in the company when I say we want to send loving condolences and prayers to your whole family from what I read in your grandmother`s obituary. She seemed to have led a life to be proud of. I know these times are hard, but I just want you guys to know that you´re Elite family is with you in anyway we can be. I know your grandmother would be proud of the couple. You two have grown to be! Keep making her proud. I´m sure she´s smiling down from a better place!
