Lucia Austin Obituary

Lucia "Lucy" Austin
1967 ~ 2021
Lucia "Lucy" Austin, age 53, died peacefully in the arms of her husband on August 24, 2021, at their home in Port Orange, FL after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lucy was born in Naples, Italy on Dec. 22nd, 1967, and moved to Danbury, CT at the age of 5. She was raised by her mother Lina Patruno.
Lucy was married to her high school sweetheart Stephen for 32 years. She was immensely proud of their daughters Alexandra (22) and Jenna (18).
Also surviving are her sister Pina and brother-in-law Hans Otto, sister Susie and brother-in-law Joe Peterson of Danbury, CT, brother Tony and sister-in-law Michelle Patruno of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, sister-in-law Kathleen and brother-in-law Marc Kennedy of Port Orange, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Lucy loved animals, especially her dog Macy, and she volunteered at Halifax Humane Society for many years. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen making amazing meals for her family and friends. In addition to spending time with her family, she loved to bake, draw, travel and was an avid walker. Before her cancer diagnosis, Lucy worked in accounting and real estate.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 11th at 12:00 noon at Grace Episcopal Church, 4110 S Ridgewood Ave. Port Orange, FL. For the health and safety of those attending, masks and social distancing will be required.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Halifax Humane Society of Daytona Beach, Halifaxhumanesociety.org.
