1932 - 2025
Maija-Liisa Vikstrom, age 92, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2025 at Stamford hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Johan Vikstrom.
Maija-Liisa was born May 4, 1932 in Rautio, Finland. She immigrated to the United States in 1960, where she married Johan in the Bronx, NY. They moved to Stamford, CT where they lived over 60 years. She was proud to become a US citizen. Maija-Liisa and Johan built a successful business and family life together, and their endeavors continue to this day.
Maija-Liisa is survived by her son Carl Eric Vikstrom, his wife Catherine, and her grandchildren Lars and Annika Vikstrom of Bridgewater, CT.
Calling hours will be Friday March 7th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leo Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford CT. A church service is planned for Saturday, March 8th at 10 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 884 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Family and friends are welcome.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home in Maija-Liisa's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Bridgewater CT Volunteer Fire Department.

Dear Eric, Catherine and children,
Lovely, Beautiful, Sincere, Honorable !!
I had the pleasure of working with Liisa with her rentals and also when Johan was at Sunrise many years ago.
We had many meaningful visits with each other.
I just adored her ! May she rest in peace.
