Marian Mikolajczyk

Marian Anthony Mikolajczyk, age 57 of New Milford, died Thursday, July 1, 2010. He was the husband of Veronique Graboski Mikolajczyk Mr. Mikola-jczyk was born in Dziekowicz, Poland, February 1, 1953, son of the late Michal and Aniela Chudzik Mikolajczyk. He was a resident of New Milford since 1987 moving from Brooklyn, N.Y. He owned and operated a retail grocery business for 33 years. Marian was a kind, gentle and loving man with a generous heart. He enjoyed traveling with his family and friends as well as skiing in the beauty of the Colorado Rockies. "What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why he left this earth so soon or why he left before we were ready to say goodbye. But little by little, we begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived and that his life gave us memories too beautiful to forget." In addition to his wife of 32 years, he is survived by three sons, Michael Mikolajczyk of Norwalk, Matthew Mikolajczyk and Andrew Mikolajczyk, both of New Milford; a daughter, Danielle Mikolajczyk of New Milford; a brother, Stanley Mikolajczyk of New Milford; two sisters, Aniela Dul of Danbury and Mary Jozwa of Zary, Poland; three nephews, Joe Dul, Tomas Jozwa and Paul Mikolajczyk; and three nieces, Dorothy Kiley, Edytka Jozwa, and Simone Pizzonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, New Milford. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 6, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford.
