Mario Talin

Mario R. Talin, Sr., 83 of Danbury, husband of Antoinette (Scalzo) Talin died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Danbury Hospital. Mr. Talin was born in Venice, Italy, June 23, 1928, a son of the late Carpi and Gemma (Salvatore) Talin. He attended schools in Italy and at the age of eighteen immigrated to the United States, first settling in New York, NY. A resident of Danbury for the past seventy years, Mr. Talin was a retired member of the wait staff of Porky-Maneros Steak House of Westport where he had been employed for thirty-two years. He was also a retired maintenance man with Consolidated School of New Fairfield. He enjoyed saltwater deep sea fishing, gardening, cooking and bird watching and was a former of the Pastime Club of Norwalk and a member of St. Peter Parish of Danbury. In addition to his wife, Antoinette of fifty-six years, Mr. Talin is also survived by a son, Marco M. Talin of Southbury; a daughter, Lisa M. Boytchev and her husband, Peter also of Southbury; two sisters, Titzianna Talin and Media Talin both of Laspeczia, Italy and four grandchildren, Mario, Alexa, Quintano and Nicholas. In addition to his parents, a son, Mario R. Talin, Jr. predeceased him. The Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 9:30 AM in St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
