Marlene Zarba Obituary

Marlene C. Zarba
Marlene C. Zarba, of New Milford, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Robert for 60 years.
Marlene was born in Schenectady, NY, on July 8, 1937, daughter to the late Frederick and Constance (Pasquerella) Verra. While working as a data processor for General Electric, she met Bob. They raised, with love and care, two sons, Kenneth and Michael. While Bob traveled for work, Marlene was always busy, giving of herself for the betterment of the community and helping people in need. She will be fondly remembered for volunteering many years at MasoniCare at Ashlar Village and serving as an election official in the Town of New Milford for over 25 years. Marlene believed in helping at the New Milford Thrift Mart, as it was a way to help secure scholarships for students at the High School. She loved cooking, preparing many delicious recipes for her friends and family, and enjoyed various hobbies and crafts with her groups of friends. Marlene was also an Avon representative, in the New Milford area, for over 35 years.
She will be missed dearly by Bob and their children, Kenneth (Monica) of Danbury, Michael (Lore) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and her loving grandchildren, Morwenna, Emilie and Kurt.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or to The New Milford Thrift Mart.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at the Lillis Funeral Home, in New Milford, on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 4-7pm. I use to bowl with Marlene and Bob. She was the sweetest, kindest woman. Always delightful to talk with her. Prayers for her family.
