Mary Frinder Obituary

Mary Gloria Frinder, 88, of Bethel, went to be with the lord on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late F. William Frinder, Sr. Gloria, as she was known to all, was born July 4 1923 in Poughkeepsie N.Y. to the late Maurice and Mary Miller Welch. She grew up in Mahopac N.Y. and graduated from Mahopac Central High School. She was a graduate of Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing and began her career at Danbury Hospital. Always a lifelong learner, at age 55, she furthered her education receiving a B.S. and M.S. Degree. Most of her career was spent as a Bethel Visiting Nurse, starting part time and eventually becoming the agency administrator until her retirement. Gloria lived most of her adult life in Bethel where she raised her family. Her greatest joys and proudest roles were that of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. One of her greatest attributes was the unconditional love and support she gave to her family. She is survived by her four children: Patricia (Joseph) Muscolino of Southbury, F. William (Valorie) of Delaware, Robert (Maureen) of Clinton and Maurica (Peter) Dobson of Bethel. She will always be missed and loved by her 7 grandchildren: Cara (Jason) Spath and Christopher Muscolino of Southbury, Megan (Ben) Lynn of Watertown, Erin (Ethan) Harris of Switzerland, Shawna Dobson and Mark Frinder of California and Stacey (Nick) Auckland of Virginia. She loved being Mimi to her 9 great grandchildren: Jake, Ryan and Emmie Spath, Harper Lynn, Siena Harris and Kendra, Hannah, Delaney and Luke Auckland. She also leaves behind a brother Richard (Noreane) Welch, a sister Kathleen Gomprecht and Sister in law Janet Welch. Gloria was predeceased by her brother Maurice Welch and great grandson Benjamin Lynn. The Family would like to thank Dr. Robert Cooper, Dr. Thomas Botta and the staff of 10 and 11 East at Danbury Hospital, Dr. James Finnerty and the Bethel VNA for all the exceptional care they gave to our mother. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gloria can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Bethel Visiting Nurse Association. The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at which time the procession will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church at 11:00. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel, CT. Information and online condolences at www.Hullfuneralservice.com
