Nancy Eckert Obituary
March 21, 2023
Nancy Wells Eckert, a longtime resident of Norwalk and New Fairfield CT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 21, 2023. She was 93 years young.
Nancy grew up and attended public school in Tuckahoe, NY, before graduating from the NY Phoenix School of Design.
As a mother of four, she was involved in both girl and boy scouts. She volunteered for many years at the public schools and Red Cross, among other organizations. She was an extremely generous and giving person, who overcame her own struggles and made it her life mission to help others. As a longtime friend of Bill W. she took great pride in what she accomplished personally and was proud of the support she was able to provide to others.
Nancy loved to sing and was active in the church choir for many years in Norwalk and New Fairfield, as well as being a member of the Danbury Chorus.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Alton Eckert, their four children, Amy (Randy) Stambaugh, Edward (Patty) Eckert, Kathryn (Robert) Miller and Donald (Kelly) Eckert, along with 11 grandchildren (predeceased by one grandson) and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church of New Fairfield, 20 Gioloti Drive, New Fairfield, CT on Saturday, April 22nd at 2:00 PM. A private interment will follow.

Dear Amy and the rest of the Eckert gang, I am so sorry for your loss. I have such amazing memories of your mom and growing up on Noah's Lane in the "old days". The YMCA, Girl Scouts and Candlewood Lake are among the best. My mom and I have been sharing stories about Mrs. Eckert and are thinking of you all and your dad. If there is anything we can do, please let us know.
