Burr Sr, Raymond
Mr. Raymond C. Burr Sr. died January 26, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Mr. Burr was born in Brookfield, CT and lived in Sebastian for 17 years coming from Southbury, CT. He attended the Newbury Congregational Church, Brookfield, CT. Mr. Burr served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean conflict. He was also salesman for Sippin Energy Products, Monroe, CT for 25 years before his retirement in 1996. He was a member of Sebastian Masonic Lodge No 232, Sebastian; Master of Hiram Lodge 18, Sandy Hook, CT (1983); Scottish Rite, Valley of Bridgeport, CT; Royal Arch Masons, Hiram #1, CT; Azan Shrine Center, Melbourne, FL; and a life member of the VFW Post 10210, Sebastian, FL. He was survived by his wife of 35 years Judith Burr; sons Raymond C. Burr, Jr. and William Burr; stepson Michael B. Norton; stepdaughter Linda M Norton; brothers Donald Burr and John Burr, sisters Marilyn Ober and Marjorie Carmody and 3 grandchildren. Mr. Burr was preceded in death by his brothers Lawrence Burr and Phillip Burr. Services: Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. PM, Thursday January 31, 2013 Strunk Funeral Home Sebastian, FL. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM, Thursday January 31, 2013 at Strunk Funeral Home. Final resting place will be in Newtown, Connecticut. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrines' Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 31356 in memory of Mr. Burr.
