Carlson, Ronald V.
Ronald V. Carlson, a life long resident of New Milford, CT, died at home with his family at his side on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the age of 68. He was born in New Milford on September 6, 1947,the son of the late Russell and Cathryn (Brophy) Carlson. Mr. Carlson graduated from New Milford High School in 1966 then married Nancy Bierbower at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford on August 22, 1970. Mr. Carlson owned Carlson Construction in New Milford for over 38 yrs. and was also a seasonal truck driver for Petro Oil Co. in Brookfield, CT, for over 30 yrs. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford, the New Milford Lions Club, the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association, and served on the New Milford Farmland Preservation Committee. Besides his wife Nancy, Mr. Carlson is survived by his son Mikael Carlson and his girlfriend Michele Sachetti of Danbury, CT, his daughter Kristina Carlson and her boyfriend Kenneth Klingman of Watertown, CT, brother Russell Carlson and his wife Linda of Calabash, NC, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sheila Smead. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Fri. October 23, 2015 at 10 am at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford. Internment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Thur. October 22 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the CT Antique Machinery Assoc., PO Box 425, Kent, CT 06757 or New Milford VNA and Hospice, 68 Park Lane Rd., New Milford, CT 06776.
