Roy Choudhury Obituary

Choudhury, Roy
New Milford resident, Roy Choudhury died on April 30, 2014. Mr. Choudhury was born on March 4, 1937 in India. Despite difficult life circumstances, he rose to face unimaginable challenges, not only finishing school but earning his first Masters Degree in India and then moving to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar. During the time of his pursuit of academic excellence, he also received a two year scholarship to study at the Sorbonne in Paris. As a Fulbright, he chose to earn his PhD at Columbia University where he eventually became a professor. He later left teaching to work for Longines-Wittnaer, first in human resources, then quickly earning the position of Senior Vice President. Mr. Choudhury was a man dedicated to learning and hard work. While raising his family in Westchester County, NY, he earned an MBA from Iona College. After moving to Danbury, CT, Mr. Choudhury became a CPA and Certified Financial Planner, first for Investors Diversified Services, later American Express, and then for Wells Fargo where he worked tirelessly for his clients until the week before his death. He truly loved his worked and serving his clients but dedicated his life to supporting his wife and three daughters. Mr. Choudhury was an inspiration to his family and friends- his work ethic, positive attitude and tremendous academic and professional achievements were testaments to his strong character and will. He was a good man who never complained about life's difficulties and always believed that with hard work, any goal could be reached, any dream could be achieved. Mr. Choudhury is survived by his wife, Chhobi Choudhury; his daughters, Jhuma Rebecca Comizio, Julie Bose Rawley, Rita Choudhury, sons-in-law Richard Comizio, Cliff Rawley and grand children, Kiana Leigh Comizio, Nikeala Lynn Comizio, Tysen Roy Comizio, Kobe Joseph Comizio, Coco Sitara Rawley, and Lola June Rawley. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT 06854. Arrangements were handled by the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford, CT.
