Sarah Straub Obituary
Sarah B. Straub - 73 of New Milford, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Sarah was born on January 6, 1951, the daughter of the late Geraldine Baldwin Bostwick and Raymond "Bud" Bostwick and was a lifelong resident of New Milford. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Danny Straub. Sarah is survived by her brother, Greg Bostwick and his partner Marlene Murphy, her sister, Marsha Clarke and her husband Richard, and many cousins and friends.
Sarah was the treasurer of Loaves and Fishes of New Milford and was instrumental in the fundraising for the new building project. She was an extraordinary gift in this life. Sarah was loving, caring, thoughtful, hardworking, spiritual and will never be forgotten!
A celebration of life will be held at the New Preston Congregational Church on Saturday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Loaves and Fishes Hospitality House, P.O. Box 2063, New Milford, or New Milford Animal Welfare, 8 Dodd Road.
Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, has care of Sarah and her family.

I knew Sarah for many years, while she and Danny were together, through his passing, her work with the Shelter Project in New Milford, and then some. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known in this area. Never dissed anyone, believed in many people and causes, loved her dogs and other animals, and she and I had many laughs and stories together in person and on the phone. We loved to share our likes of classic home pictures with comfort themes and country settings. I, being a real estate broker, sent her many pictures of homes and properties that I knew she would enjoy and be comfortable in, especially after Danny's passing. We truly enjoyed our talks and laughs together in person and on the phone. She is an.d was a special person to a lot of area people. A star in the night might be the best way to remember her.
