Suzanne J. Simone, 34 of Carmel, New York and previously of Newtown died unexpectedly February 26, 2017. Suzy was born May 13, 1982 a daughter of Steve and Fran (Reheuser) Simone of Middlebury and Sandy Michaud of Stafford Springs. She attended Head O Meadow School, Newtown Middle School, and graduated from Wooster School in Danbury. She was a courageous Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor, and bone marrow recipient. In addition to her parents, she also leaves behind her beloved daughter Jennifer Altschul, her brother Rob of Middlebury, her grandparents Pat and Selma Simone of Purchase, NY, and her cat Rose; her Aunt Mary, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Hal, and her cousins Barb, Johnny, Jimmy, and their families. She had many friends from Wooster, Emmaus, Ann's Place, cancer and transplant groups including Molly and Misty, her shadow, Kat, and Conroy. Courage and compassion filled her life even under life threatening, chronic illnesses. Thanks to her aides, especially Marge and Tasha and her doctors who saved her life countless times: Tausef Ahmed, Delong Liu, Jeffery Beechert, Jeffery Fekete, and Warren Rosenblum.
Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home in Newtown on Thursday, March 2 from 5 until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown on Friday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery.
