Thomas Gillotti Obituary

Gillotti Sr., Thomas M.
Avid Outdoorsman and Loving Father
Thomas M. Gillotti Sr., a lifelong Southbury resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the age of 63.
Mr. Gillotti was born on December 27, 1952 in Waterbury, CT. He was enlisted in the Marine Corps during Vietnam. Tom was employed with the Town of Southbury Highway Department just shy of his 47th year anniversary. Mr. Gillotti was a very hardworking man, his dedication proved himself as the longest documented town employee in the history of Southbury.
Known for his love of the outdoors, Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman his whole life, he also enjoyed cooking, country music and ice cold beer with good friends. Tom was a new member of the Harwinton Rod & Gun Club. He loved his family "BIG" (in his words) and will be so deeply missed by his devoted family and longtime friends. During his life, he touched so many people in so many ways. There was no one truly like him, nor was there ever a dull moment to be had.
He was predeceased by his father Robert Gillotti Sr.; his mother Loretta Stillson Gillotti and his brother Robert Gillotti Jr., all of Southbury.
He is survived by his son Thomas Gillotti Jr. of Southbury; his daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Jeff Rivard; beloved granddaughters Gabriella Sirois and Giana Rivard, all of New Hartford. A brother Timothy Gillotti Sr. of Southbury and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Tom also leaves behind his dear friend Kathy Crisci of Southbury.
Calling hours are on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 4-8 p.m. at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street S., Southbury, CT. Funeral is private to the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory can be made to Harwinton Rod & Gun Club, 123 Campville Hill Road, P.O. Box 181, Harwinton, CT 06791. Online condolences can left at www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com

Tom, wherever you are, thanks for the neighborly kindness you showed over the years. You were a real authentic guy in a world of people who often don't say what they really mean. I'll always remember your laugh... and that lethal shine you made in your garage. You're missed. Say hi to my dog.

I am deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of another interesting and funny outdoors person, Tom Gillotti. I have met Tom along with other fishing and outdoor friends at several favorite recreational places, including the Harwinton Rod and Gun Club. Tom was always quick with important observations and truly loved the outdoors. Tom often spoke of his passion for fishing and was entertaining to listen to! Many of the fisher people and fishing bait and tackle store owners have known him for a long time, and yes we will ALL miss him out there. Deepest Condolences
