Victoria Dinto Obituary

Victoria B. Dinto, 88, of Danbury, beloved wife of Paul Dinto, passed away peacefully at Hancock Hall, on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Victoria was born in Tuckahoe, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Otillia (Geis) Stapf. She graduated from Pine Plains High School. She had three great passions in life, her faith in God and the Roman Catholic Church, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her love of basketball. She was an avid UCONN Huskies Woman's Basketball fan. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Paul P. Dinto and wife Elaine, of Danbury, her daughter Frances Houghtaling, of Brookfield, her sister Ann Capellano, of Danbury, her brother Peter Stapf, of Pine Plains, NY, her grandchildren: Richard Houghtaling and wife Nancy, Beth Houghtaling and Holly Eichin and husband Bill, her great grandchildren: John David Rubinow, Aaron Rubinow and Maxwell Diaz, her sisters-in-law Anna Eriquez and Frances Dinto, as well as many nieces and nephews, among them: Edward Staff and wife Ann, Gloria Peck and husband Donald, Betty Jane Dinto, Barbara Holdridge, John Capellano and wife Barbara and Lucy Davis and husband Norman. She was predeceased by her brothers: Edward Staff, Frank Stapf and William Stapf, and her son-in-law, Harry Houghtaling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to Ann's Place Home of I Can, 39 Old Ridgebury Rd., Suite 17, Danbury, CT 06811 or the Danbury Hospital Development Fund, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810.
