William Neeb Obituary

William Robert Neeb
William Robert Neeb, New Milford, CT. It is with great sadness that the family of Will Neeb announces the unexpected passing after a tragic car accident on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the age of 16. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and teammate. He is survived by his parents, Debi and Bill Neeb, Sister Madeline Bouzakis (Chris) of New Milford and Amanda Neeb (Timmy Regan) of New Milford, paternal grandparents Laura and Robert Neeb of New Milford, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Maryann Henry and great granny Stanavage and cousin Samantha Armstrong.
Will was a Junior at New Milford High School where he was an honor student known in the school community for his contagious smile, wild curly hair and kindness to his classmates and friends. Will was a friend to many and was able to make strong connections with many of the wonderful teachers at NMHS.
He was deeply passionate about sports, constantly striving to be the best he could be in the sports he loved while carrying himself with grace and humility. His dedication drove him to push his limits, always seeking improvement and excellence. When Will was younger, he played soccer, basketball, lacrosse, golf and hockey. He went on to love golf, but Hockey was his true passion. This past fall Will became the Division 1 CT state golf champion with a score of 69 and helped his NMHS golf team achieve 2nd place in the state. Despite his golf talents (#wrongsport?), he was constantly drawn to the ice. From shooting 100 pucks in the basement at 10pm at night to early morning 4 am wake up calls to be the first on the ice, his dedication led him to be a strong and talented Hockey player with aspirations to play at the highest level. Will was always up for the challenge when it came to hockey.
He was a gracious player, win or lose but he was more than just an athlete. He was a good person, always thanking those who supported him, supporting his teammates and their successes, and was aware of the needs of those around him. From the outside looking in, it was easy to overlook Will's sensitivity and tender heart, but those who truly knew him saw how deeply he cared. He deeply loved and cared for his family, friends and teammates. Family time was special to him. Summers included time at Candlewood Lake, the beaches in Ogunquit Maine and OBX and many camping trips. He recently said he was so excited for Christmas to be coming so he could spend time with his Big sisters and our family.
His departure leaves us all with an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the memories of his everlasting love and his smile. The outpouring of love and support of his friends, teammates and the community have impacted us in ways words cannot express.
Will possessed insight beyond his years and we have felt his presence guiding us through every difficult moment and as Will would say "Above all Try something".
A Memorial Fund has been set up: Will Neeb Memorial Scholarship Fund, Edward Jones, 329 Danbury Rd, New Milford, CT 06776.

To Will's Family,
My heart breaks for you all - for you, his parents who got that phonecall every parent of a teenager dreads, and for you, his sisters, the forgotten grievers.
I didn't know Will, but I learned of his passing through the hockey world. My five kids play, and my youngest is the same age as Will. Your lives have been so blessed by these 16 years you have spent with him; he sounds like a wonderful kid. From what you wrote, it sounds like he will continue to be part of your lives, just from a different place.
Lean on each other, Team Will. I'll be thinking of you all.
