Barbara J. Gruenwald, 77, passed away in the arms of her beloved husband David Gruenwald with family alongside her on Tuesday November 2, 2021.
A private funeral for family will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in LaSalle at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.
Barb was born on December 9, 1943 to John & June (Pittman) Porikos. She married David Gruenwald on March 24, 1962 at St. Patrick's Church.
Barb is survived by her husband David Gruenwald and 4 children: Connie (Jim) Sprong, David Gruenwald Jr, Randy Gruenwald and Angie (Terry Missey) Urbanc; 10 grandchildren James (Erika) Sprong, Jake (Jessica) Urbanc, Matt (Hanna) Sprong, Ali (Zach) Crow, Jenna (Derek Casey) Sprong, Sarah Gruenwald, Dylan Gruenwald, Anna Gruenwald, Gavin Gruenwald, Caden Gruenwald and 9 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Porikos.
