Died: November 30, 2022 in Morton, IL
Edith Mae "Edie" Gunn, 102, formerly of Oglesby, joined her Savior at 6:25 a.m. November 30,
2022 at the Reflections Memory Care, Morton, IL.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, in the Shields Funeral
Chapel, Oglesby. Pastor Marc Strand will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial
Park, LaSalle. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel.
Edie was born April 7, 1920 in LaSalle to Raymond and Gertrude (Guenther) Berryman. She
married Edmund Kolowski in 1940, who passed away in 1964. Edie and Edmund had three
children: Richard, Robert, and Renee. In 1966, Edie married Harold "Owa" Gunn, who passed
away in 1991.
Edie began her work career at Westclox, and later worked as a custodian at Oglesby Washington
School, and had a house cleaning business on the side. Edie's final job was cleaning shelves and
appliances at John's Service and Sales. Edie was famous among her friends and family for the
trinkets and treasures she collected and purchased at many a garage sale in the Illinois Valley.
Edie and Owa loved travelling – especially to watch their grand-children play sports. They were
devout members of the Oglesby Baptist Church.
Edie is survived by her son Richard (Bonnie) Kolowski of Omaha, NE, daughter Renee
Wrobleski of Deer Creek, IL, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-
grandchildren and her daughter-in-law Nancy Kolowski of Yorkville, IL.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands, son Robert Kolowski, brother Gerald "Bud"
Berryman, and son-in-law Ronald Wrobleski.
