Edward A. Konczak, Jr., 44, of Oglesby, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2026, as the result of a worksite accident.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Shields Funeral Chapel in Oglesby. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Rev. Paul Carlson will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.
Edward was born February 3, 1982, in Peru to Edward and Debra (St. Germaine) Konczak. Edward worked as a crane operator for Union Local 150.
Edward is survived by his loving partner, Erin Karlosky; his sons, who made him so proud, Christopher (Bailey) Pyse of California and Jordan Veracini of Maine; his first born daughter, Kayla Konczak; and his youngest daughter, Allie Konczak. His children were his life and the reason for all he did.
He was blessed with six beautiful grandchildren, whom he treasured and who will deeply miss their "Pops" and "Papa": Jaxon, Kayden, Edward, and Brooklynn Byrne of Oglesby, and Alethea and Freya Pyse of California.
Edward grew up in a home full of sibling love and is survived by his brothers and sisters: Diane (Brian) Faull of Oglesby, Dawn (Scott) Tregoning of Peru, James (Ashley) Konczak of Oglesby, Jessica Konczak of Oglesby, Mary (Jonah) Spradling of Oglesby, and Susan Konczak of Oglesby.
His love for family spread wide and included many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who were like brothers and sisters to him.
Edward loved playing football with his grandsons, hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATVs and side-by-sides, and having a cold Bud Light in his hand. He loved life, and making others smile brought him so much joy.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Eddie's life following the services at Archway Tap in Oglesby.
