Died: January 11, 2022 in Elburn, IL
Elaine R. (Green) Phalen, 87, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at her daughter's home in Elburn surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with Chico Perez, officiating. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those attending services are kindly asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
Elaine Phalen was born November 11, 1934 to Lilburn and Fern (Barcus) Green in Lone Tree, Iowa. She was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School. She married Patrick Phalen on May 8, 1954 in Mendota.
Elaine and her husband, Patrick were interior designers and owned and operated Phalen's House of Draperies in Mendota, IL for 42 years before retirement. Elaine's passions were interior design, floral arranging, worldwide travel with her husband and most importantly, her family and all those she loved.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Lane Bresticker of Elburn and Lori (Michael) Ring of Lake Villa; son-in-law, David Schlesinger of Earlville; grandchildren, Bradley (Marcia) Meadows, Blair Meadows (Jesse Furmanek), Jayde Schlesinger (Sam Lipp); three great-grandchildren, Maddox and Aliyah Meadows and Eleanor Lipp, three nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick on April 4, 2014; one daughter, Cynthia (Phalen) Schlesinger on January 23, 2021; one son-in-law, Robert Bresticker on November 27, 2015; two brothers, Dale Green and Doran Green.
Pallbearers will be Brad Meadows, Blair Meadows, Jayde Schlesinger, David Schlesinger, Michael Ring and Sam Lipp.
