Died: February 19, 2022 in Peru, IL
Florine Marie (Brown) Martin, 66 of Peru, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at her home surrounded by her husband and children.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with Pastor Kyle Singleton of Oswego, officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery.
Florine was born on March 23, 1955 in Aurora to Ronald and Lillian (Thryselius) Brown. She married the love of her life, Bert Martin, on June 30, 1973 in Granite City. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Jason) Wellington of Warrenville, David (Tara) Martin of Peoria, Donald Martin of Peru, Cynthia (Allen) Peak of Willow Springs, MO, Gregory Martin of Jacksonville, NC and Dee (Lacey) Martin of LaSalle; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Bradley Brown of Peru, Ronald Brown of Courtland, and Alfred (Tammy) Brown of Hinckley; four sisters, Linda (Chuck) Pyle of TX, Pamela (Dennis) Bailey of Colorado, Eleanora (Thomas) Feltes of Tennessee, and Robin Brown of West Chicago; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Brown, two sisters Donna Maish and Wendy Wackerland.
Florine's favorite past time was cheering on her children and grandchildren. "That's my boy/girl!" could be heard far and wide at every event/game/competition. Florine always referred to her grandchildren as her "Best-ests"; they knew they were the most important people in the world to her. She shared her heart with everyone. With a big smile and a hearty greeting, she made friends easily. She engaged with as many people as she could. If she was in the room, you knew it. She brought the party to every occasion.
Near the end of her journey here on earth, she felt blessed and grateful. She thanked her friends and family for wanting to be with her, and she thanked God for the wonderful experiences she shared with all those she loved. She will be missed by so many.
Pallbearers will be David, Donald, Gregory, Dee, Zander, and Brock.
