James Morris Obituary

James Jim William Morris
Born: June 28, 1954 in Henry Senachwine, IL
Died: April 26, 2025 in Princeton, IL
Princeton - James "Jim" William Morris, 70, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, surrounded by loving family, after a long battle with cancer.
Jim was born on June 28, 1954 in Henry Senachwine, Illinois, the son of James "Bud" and Bernice (Merdian) Morris. Jim graduated from Henry High School in 1972, then went on to Bradley University, earning a degree in accounting in 1976. Jim married Jeanie Spellious on June 8, 1974. Jim and Jeanie were married for 50 years.
In his college years, Jim supported his education by running his own carpet cleaning business. After graduating, he worked as a Certified Public Accountant for many years at prestigious CPA firms before forming a self-made business. He was also chief business officer for a Princetonian company which developed into a local staple of industry. Jim was proud of his service as treasurer for the Zearing Daycare Board for 13 years, overseeing the financial needs of building a center.
Jim loved woodworking, especially with his grandchildren. Many of their projects developed into beautiful Frank Loyd Wright inspired pieces. He also rebuilt his home, by his own design, into an impressive culmination of Frank Loyd Wright's style. Additionally, throughout the years he enjoyed playing golf, water skiing, and bowling with friends. Most importantly he took up motor home camping later in life and travelled the country with Jeanie for 25 years.
Remaining to cherish Jim's memory are his wife, Jeanie Morris; children, Liza (Matt) Reynolds, James David (Maggie) Morris, and Jessie (Nick) Morris-Forristall; grandchildren, Cole Reynolds, Gracie Reynolds, Marshall Morris, Amelia Morris, and James "Iggy" Forristall; sisters, Patty Maubach, Mary Kay Longman, and Marie Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jim in death are his sister Judy and his parents, Bud and Bernice Morris.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 3 PM to 5 PM at Norberg Memorial Home, Inc & Monuments in Princeton.
