Died: June 27, 2021; Mendota
LAMOILLE – June M. Bonnell, 74, of LaMoille, passed away June 27, 2021 in Heritage Health Mendota.
Private family services will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to serve the family.
June was born May 10, 1947 in Peru to Wayne and Doris (McLaughlin) Black. She married Richard Bonnell on April 4, 1964 in Princeton. Junebug was an accomplished self taught painter and expert wallpaper installer, with her company " Cover Ups," redecorating thousands of homes in the surrounding area. Not one to be idle in retirement, June began painting barn quilts, passing on her love of decorating to her daughter and granddaughters. June was a volunteer with the LaMoille Lions Club, and a member of Community United Methodist Church.
She is deeply missed by her son, Rick (Dori) Bonnell of LaMoille; daughter, Annette (Joseph) Larson; grandchildren, Justin, Riley, Ingrid and Maeve; sister, Karon Hohertz of Naperville; two brothers, Duane (Janine) Black of Mendota and Don (Deb) Black of Dimmick; and her beloved kitties, Itty and Tige.
June is preceded by her husband, Richard in 2009; and her parents.
Memorials may be directed to the LaMoille Ambulance or LaMoille Lions Club.

Our deepest condolences to the family. What a huge loss for everyone. To our family, June was our Lamoille Butterfly. She brought beauty and joy everywhere she touched. Whether she stopped by the house while cruising in her side- by -side on the way to Fast Stop, brought delicious caramel apples over for our grandkids, or all of us chatting at the Lion's Club...she was an absolute blessing! The warm welcome we received from June after moving to rural Lamoille will never be forgotten. She will never be forgotten! Rest in Peace Junebug!
