Kenneth L. Quick, 88 of Oglesby died October 4, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday October 11, 2025 in the Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby. The Rev. Ronald Margherio, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel. Additional visitation will be 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday In the funeral chapel.
Ken was born July 12, 1937 in Peru to Reuel and Hazel (Pryde) Quick. He married Carole Mason January 5, 1957 in Ottawa.
Ken was an electrical engineer for Electrical Utilities in LaSalle and later was co-founder and co-owner of Ronken Industries.
Ken loved golfing and fishing. He especially loved the gatherings at home with his family. He enjoyed watching the squirrels, birds, deer and wild turkeys out his window. He also enjoyed the 57 years of family fishing trips to Wisconsin and his annual golf trip to Lake Geneva. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife Carole of Oglesby, 3 sons; Bill (Lynn), Ken (Diane) and Dave (Kim) all of Oglesby, a daughter Lori (Eric) Kostellic of Oglesby, 9 grandchildren; Wes (Addie), Derik (Brittany), John, Brandon, Erin, Kyle (Josie), Jordan, Jake and Zach, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Alice Wilson of Camdenton, MO, and a brother-in- law Bill (Jan Doyle) Mason of Spring Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Nathan Applebee September 5, 2005 and brother-in-law Scottie Wilson.
Ken's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
