Luis C. Escatel 88 of Mendota passed away December 6, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 4-8pm with a 7pm rosary on Monday December 11 in Wasmer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:30am December 12. Rev. Jeff Windy will officiate and burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Luis was born on January 10, 1935, in Totatiche, Jalisco, Mexico to Panfilo and Maria (Cruz Castaneda) Escatel. He married Guadalupe Salinas on February 1, 1969, in Mexico. During his long work career, he was at Conkey's, Monterrey Mushroom Factory in Princeton, and retired from Motor Wheel Corp. in Mendota. He was a devoted member of Holy Cross Church in Mendota.
He will be forever missed by his wife Guadalupe of Mendota, 4 sons, 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sons, 1 daughter, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Pallbearers will be Remijo Escatel, Rumaldo Escatel, Eduardo Escatel, Cristian Felix, Julian Rodriguez and Adrian Rodriguez. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at wasmerfuneralhome.com. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family.
