Nancy Trad Obituary

Nancy Kathryn Trad
Born: February 2, 1935 in LaMoille, IL
Died: November 1, 2023 in San Diego, CA
Nancy Kathryn Aitken Trad peacefully passed away on Nov. 1 in San Diego, where she was living near family. Funeral arrangements will be held in Marseilles next spring.
Nancy graduated from LaSalle/Peru/Oglesby High School and St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria. A dedicated nurse, Nancy worked at St. Margaret's in Spring Valley, the Marseilles Nursing Service, and the Ottawa Community Hospital. Some of her favorite stories were those from the operating room, taking care of her patients and working alongside professionals and clergy whom she greatly respected.
Nancy had a fantastic ability to see the good in all people. Her faith in God never diminished, as she said her rosary with reverence every day.
Her greatest love was Michael Trad Jr. They married in 1958 and spent much of their beautiful life in Marseilles with their three children. Nancy was an incredible caregiver, demonstrating a steadfast and loyal love for her family and friends.
She delighted in traveling and was able to see her family's homeland of Scotland. Later in life, Nancy lived in different parts of the country. First, in Raleigh and eventually lived out her final days as she had always wanted, as a "California Girl."
Nancy enjoyed watching birds from her deck, playing cards, taking in classic movies, and cheering on the Cubbies.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Suzan) Trad of Marshfield, Wisc.; Paula (Mark) Klietz of Missoula, Mont.; and Jeffry (Gwenn Saludares) Trad of San Diego, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Kathryn (Steven) Hodge of Missoula, and Jessica Trad of Minneapolis.
As Nancy would lovingly say, we'll "see you in the movies."
