Dick what's my Hall High School theater director and I must say a huge mentor that made me have theater as a career! He was not afraid to take risks and do big style Broadway shows in a high school of only 500 students! He allowed us theaters students and others to participate in wonderful performances that were way out of our reach but he encouraged us to reach for the sky and we did! The results were magnificent! He also gave us some free rein and allowed us to do sets and things in the shows that were difficult and the end result was very very high. Has a result of him I know at least five people from my class and the class behind me that became theater teachers! I wish I had said this earlier but I do believe I said it too his wife Ruth how much he impacted my life and others! I became a high school theater teacher and taught for 34 years! Thank you dick Richard for everything and may you rest in peace and look down on all your successes that you started! Sending lots of condolences to his family and Ruth! Bob Estrin

I knew Dick & Ruth several years ago when they lived in southern Illinois. Dick & I served on a committee together. I have thought about both of them several times over the years since they moved away. It was a great pleasure to know them. My deepest condolences to his family.
