I met Richard when I began working for Miller & Associates, in the Plaza Tower building, about two years ago. He had been coming up for coffee every morning for many years. I have an office that is seen from the entrance. I was the first person to see him when he came in and began getting his coffee from then on. He would look for me and me for him. He would come in and tell me about his day and any plans he said. He would ask how I was doing. He never failed to thank me each and everyday for coffee or anything else he was given. He was kind, funny and a person that never met a stranger and because of this, had friends all over Knoxville. I considered him a friend of mine. The front of our building is missing a fixture that we all came to look for each morning, coming into work. He will be missed by me and by so many others.
