Rodney Pietrowski Obituary

Rodney J. Pietrowski
Born: June 1, 1955 in La Salle, IL
Died: November 1, 2024 in La Salle, IL
Rodney J. Pietrowski 69 of La Salle. Passed away November 1, 2024, in his home.
Private services will be at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Rodney was born June 1, 1955, in la Salle to Leonard and Ann (Wrobleski) Pietrowski Sr. He married Lorianne Klukaczynski May 16, 1981, in St Valentine Church.
Rodney started as a patrolman with the La Salle Police Department and retired as a detective after 27 years of service. He also owned Pietrowski Painting in La Salle and enjoyed "Cutting in" and "cutting up" alongside his father-in-law Steve.
Rodney's love of traveling with family and friends took him to all 50 states. Hunting was his passion and waterfowl was his favorite. He treasured his many hunting trips from Minnesota to Mexico, with lifelong friends and his beloved hunting partner Ammo.
Rodney delighted in cooking for his wife Lori and hanging out with friends and family reliving memories. He was practical joker with an infectious laugh. He enjoyed making everyone laugh with his wildly playful antics.
Take a moment to say a prayer, raise a glass, remember a story- just keep him in your heart for a while.
Rodney is survived by his wife Lori, his sister Karen (Micky) Foley of Florida and his brother Leonard Pietrowski Jr of La Salle and sister Renee (Danny)Pietrowski- Lavin of Missouri. His mother-in-law Darlene Klukaczynski and brother-in-law Steve Kacy of La Salle and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Steve.

My sincere condolences to Rod's family. I moved to the east end of LaSalle in 2nd grade and met Rod and Renee at school. We grew up together and spent a lot of time playing baseball at 4th street park, basketball and football on Todd Street. I remember being at his house a lot and Butch's Road Runner. Although I hadn't seen Rod for many years, he was a good friend growing up. RIP.

I had the privilege working with Rodney many years when I was states attorney. He was an excellent police officer and investigator. He knew it was important and worked diligently to get his job done. He had great ethics and common sense. He served as well. My sincere sympathy To his family, friends and former coworkers in law enforcement that have lost a true comrade.
