Died: March 29, 2024 in Lake Ozark, MO
Ronald C. Thone, 78, of Lake Ozark, MO, passed away on March 29, 2024. He was a very loving, caring, hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barb (St. Catherine), 3 daughters, Julie (Doug) Burcham of Spring Valley, IL, Janelle (Troy) Kaiser of Nepnoset, IL, Joni (Gene) Azarskis of Lake Ozark, MO, 1 granddaughter, Emma Gualandi of Romeoville, IL, 1 grandson, Joey Azarskis of Lake Ozark, MO, 1 great-grandson, Hendrix Done of Romeoville, IL, 6 step-grandchildren, and 7 step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Janice (John) Swietek, and 2 brothers, Jim Thone and Jerry (Janet) Thone. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Evelyn Stehl and Wilma Slater, one brother, Terry Thone, and reunited with his beloved grandson, Travis Strugala.
He managed and operated a successful restaurant, The Big House in Spring Valley, IL, for 37 years with his wife and family. Ronald was an avid Chicago sports fan, enjoyed golfing, fishing, and mostly being with his family. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Spring Valley, IL.
According to Ron's wishes, no services will be held. A family celebration will take place at a later date. Cremation services have been accorded.

Many will remember Ron from the big house, I´ll remember him from Ladd for sharing his grandfather with me. Mr Lund lived next door and the Thone family lived a block away. Great times in a small village! My sympathies to family

So many wonderful memories to share from working with him, to working for him, to becoming a "regular" at The Big House
He was so generous to our sons when as Red Devils they made state always giving dinners and breakfasts and donations .
I always remember if a priest dined at the Big House they never paid
All my family worked for him at one time or another. All the birthdays , anniversaries, class reunions and even weddings we had at the Big House he was eithet at the end of the bar greeting us or in the kitchen cooking our meals.
As business started to slow you could find Jack and I every Saturday night sitting at the bar and discussing everything with Ron (and Barb) but especially our beloved crazy Days of our Lives
Thanks you for all the wonderful memories you will be missed my friend .. hug Travis for us I know you are with him he so loved his Papa.
