William "Bill" Nevicosi

Died: September 22, 2022 in LaSalle, IL
William "Bill" Nevicosi, 92, of Peru, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at St. Joseph's Church, Peru with Rev. J.A. Small and Rev. Gregory Jarzombek, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley with full military rites conducted by the Spring Valley American Legion. Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Mr. Nevicosi was born October 6, 1929 in Dalzell to Peter and Maria (Riva) Nevicosi. He married Norma Jean Sell on October 17, 1953 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Dalzell.
Mr. Nevicosi was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1951-1953 and stationed in Europe. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Peru, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Nevicosi was a very accomplished bowler and horseshoe thrower with many trophies to show for it. He bowled the first 300 game in the history of Ladd Lanes in 1968 and was a member the Illinois Valley Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He was also a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bears and enjoyed high school and college wrestling. Mr. Nevicosi enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities and especially enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Above all, his family was always his top priority and his greatest joy.
Survivors include his children, Suzanne Nevicosi of Henderson, NV and Mike (Carol) Nevicosi of Caledonia; two grandchildren, Nicole (Nick) Lucas and Amanda Nevicosi both of Des Moines, IA; one sister, Mary Ann Ragogna of Mark and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean on September 14, 2021; his parents; one sister, Theresa Panizzi and this brothers, Nathan and John Nevicosi.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph's Church, Peru or the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
