Bill "Fat Cat" Reese, 62, of Peru, IL, passed away peacefully in his home on September 18, 2021, with his loving family by his side after a very courageous battle with a long-term illness.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 25, 2021, in St Joseph Church. The Rev Gary Blake will officiate. Cremation rites will follow the services. Burial will be at later date.
Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday in the church. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Bill was born in Peru to Wallace and Nancy (Harris) Reese on April 10, 1959. He went to school at La Salle-Peru High School (Class of 1977). He married Terri Ciesielski on February 25, 1984, in Peru. He was employed at Maze Nails for 44 years as a machinist and most recently a production supervisor. He was a member of St Joseph Church.
Through the years, Bill and his wife enjoyed boating, riding Harley motorcycles and his dream car, vacationing and spending time with his dear family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Terri of 37 years, three children; Jill King of Ottawa, Matt Reese of Peoria and Amanda (Ryley) Lyons of Marion, IA., five brothers and one sister Jim (Pat) of Spring Valley, Bob (Carla) of Dimmick, Ricky of Peru, Tom of Denver, Co. Dave of Peru and Sharon (Jack) Joerger of Peru: father-in-law Tom (Shirley) Ciesielski: five grandchildren (Alyssa, Anthony, Amelia, Jaxen and Raegan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, mother-in-law (Jean) and brother-in-law (Tommy)
Pallbearers will be Jim Reese, Bob Reese, Dave Reese, Jack Joerger, Ryley Lyons, Anthony King, Chris Kramer and Joe Kramer
The family of Bill wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr Robert Morrow & staff, Dr Greg Gerstner of Illinois of Cancer Care & staff, Mayo Clinic, St Margaret's Hospice for exceptional care and family friends for their ongoing love and support.
