Diane Snyder Obituary

WESTERNPORT - Diane Kay Snyder, 61, of Westernport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, surrounded by her family who loved her so much. 
She was born in Crawfordsville, IN, on February 18, 1956 and was the daughter of the late Frederick Proffitt and Velma (Phillips) Proffitt.  ?     Diane moved to Westernport, with her family on November 7, 1967.  She graduated from Bruce High School in 1974.  She married Mark Snyder on June 27, 1975.  Diane graduated from the Mineral County Technical Center in 2005 as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).  She went on to receive her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from Mountain State University in 2010.  She also received her RNAC (Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator) certification in October, 2017.  Diane began her nursing career working at Egle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lonaconing.  In May of 2016, she took a position as the RNAC with Diakon at Ravenwood Nursing Care Center in Hagerstown.  ?     Diane is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mark Snyder; three daughters, Kristie Hamilton and husband Shawn of Westernport, Carlee McNeal and husband Mark of Hagerstown, and Courtney Morton and husband Jeremy of Westernport.  Lovingly known to her grandchildren as "Mamé", Diane leaves behind Delaney McNeal, Indiana McNeal, Finnigan McNeal, Everlee McNeal, Lennon Morton and Cameron Hamilton.  She also has three step-grandchildren Haley Pacheco and husband Jose, Taylor Hamilton, and Anthony Hamilton, and two step-great grandchildren AJ Pacheco and Aubree Skaggs.  She is also survived by one brother, Allen Proffitt of Dallas, TX, and one sister, Cindy Shumaker and husband Don of Westernport; brother-in-law Lowell Snyder and wife Gloria of Bloomington, sister-in-law Debbie Zais and husband Marvin of Westernport, and brother-in-law Scott Snyder of Westernport. Diane also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many close friends.  
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Monday, February 5th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 6th at 11:00 am with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating.
