Curtis Wayne Hause

STAUNTON Curtis Wayne Hause, 36, husband of Robyn (Hamilton) Hause of 198 White Oak Gap Road, Staunton, died April 22, 2006, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, after a courageous battle. He was born Oct. 17, 1969, in Staunton, a son of Earl E. and Wanda (Burns) Hause. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1989 until 1993. During his time of service, he served in the Gulf War in 1990, was elected "Soldier of the Year," was an avid marksman and was a Bradley instructor. He received many medals and ribbons, including three bronze stars. Mr. Hause was also an avid outdoorsman and was a Cub Scout leader of Pack 13. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Prior to his illness, he had been employed by Food Lion Corp. for 18 years, including seven years as a store manager. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include a son, Justin Hause, and a stepson, Dillon Martin, both at home; and a brother, Kenneth Hause of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. April 26, 2006, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wayne Taylor. Burial will follow in West Augusta Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Rolf Allen, Derrick Tinsley, Lance James, Eric Nuckoles, Jack Dawson and Eric Walton. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Barger and Anthony Wilson. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. April 25, 2006, at the funeral home.
