Daniel Earl "Danny" Smith, 56, husband of Amy (Bear) Smith, of Waynesboro, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Smith was born in Staunton, Virginia, on March 6, 1966, a son of the late Curtis Caldwell Smith and Lucille (Smith) Smith.
Danny co-owned Electric Connection in Staunton. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro where he served as a deacon and First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, elder, and attended many mission trips. Danny enjoyed golfing with his children and family and playing church league softball. He coached soccer, baseball, and enjoyed helping others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Michael Smith.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 31 years, are two sons, Caleb Matthew Smith and Patrick Caldwell Smith, both of Waynesboro; two brothers, Randall Keith "Randy" Smith and his wife, Gail, of Mt. Sidney, and Peter Dwayne "Pete" Smith and his wife, Lisa, of Forest, Va.; a brother-in-law, David Bear and his wife, Anne, of Charlottesville; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Hypes and her husband, Randy, of Waynesboro, and Becky Smith of College Station, Texas; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro by the Reverend Barrett Owen and Mr. Thomas Woodworth. The family will receive friends following the service.
