Fred Cloonan Obituary
Fred was born on 12 May, 1947 in Staunton, Virginia, a son of the late Fred Melvin and Charlotte Lee (Baylor) Cloonan. He graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1966. After serving 2 tours in the United States Navy, Fred served on the Waynesboro Police Force. He then joined The Virginia Department of Corrections and retired in January 2011 having served for 31 years.
Fred was preceded in death by his Sister, Mary Cloonan Bebe, his Sister, Joyce Marie Cloonan, his Brother, William Mason Cloonan and his Stepson, Justin Kislek.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Harman Cloonan, his Stepdaughter, Samantha Ayin, his Sister, Patricia Cloonan Prentiss and his Brother, Christopher Anthony Cloonan,.
Fred enjoyed collecting guns, swords and knives. He was an avid reader and enthusiastically participated in re-enactments of the Civil War. He was a cat lover and also enjoyed eating spaghetti, steak and chocolate.
A Memorial Service will be held on 6 November 2025 at 1:00 at The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at Aldersgate United Methodist Pulaski, Virginia.

I met Fred while hanging around Hardees ,We had many laughs .I remember going to his house and seeing his beautiful sisters, Fred was kind of quiet but was a great guy.
