Willie Almarode Obituary
Born on February 5, 1934, in Spottswood, Va., he was a son of the late Lacy James and Margaret Dale (Wiseman) Almarode.
Mr. Almarode owned and operated Blue Ridge Security Systems Inc. for over 25 years. He was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro. Willie was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Four Aces Hunt Club in Stuarts Draft. He was a U.S. veteran having served his country honorably during the Korean War with the Army rising to the rank of Corporal. As an avid outdoorsman, he greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time outside.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carey Harvey Almarode; son, Harvey Almarode; and granddaughter, Amanda Almarode.
Survivors include his son, Monte Karl Almarode of Stuarts Draft; two granddaughters, Jessica Killingsworth and husband, Hunter, and Tina Green and husband, Steven; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Layla Brown, Shawn Green, Thomas Green and Lane Killingsworth.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Hermitage Presbyterian Church, 46 Hildebrand Church Road, Waynesboro, with Pastor Jaci Smith Patman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
