Joseph Birkhimer Obituary
Joseph was born September 17, 1942 in Waverly, Ohio, the son of the late James Albert and Opal (Knisley) Birkhimer. On April 9, 1966 he was united in marriage to Elaine (Singo) Birkhimer who survives.
He is also survived by four children, Brian (Rhonda) Birkhimer, Doug Birkhimer, Kathy (Ron) Horne, and Lindsay (Scott) Patterson; nine grandchildren, Allen, Aaron (Sarah), Jonathan, Jacob, and Jordan Leatherwood, Gabe Birkhimer, Lexi (Landen) Clemmons, Bryce Patterson, and Ashley (Zach) Schrof; brother-in-law, Dean Beck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gordon Birkhimer, and Ben Birkhimer; a sister, Judy Adkins; and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Harry) Miller, and Patricia Beck.
Joseph was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Lucent Technologies. He attended New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union, Waverly, Ohio, where he enjoyed serving through different ministries.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with pastors Lonnie Potts and Greg Leeth officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery with graveside military rights performed by American Legion Merritt Post 142, Waverly, Ohio
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024 and one hour prior to the service at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio.
