Nichols James Obituary

Waverly Nicholas Cranston James, 52 of Waverly, Ohio, passed 8:10 p.m. Sunday July 27, 2025, at Adena Pike Medical Center.

Nick was born August 21, 1972, in Peru, Indiana the son of the late Rev. Norman Gene James and Diane Gardner (Brown) James.

Surviving are an uncle, Rev. William E. James and wife Karen of Westerville, Ohio; cousins, Bill James and wife Alicia of Westerville, Ohio, Sarah Beth James of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Neil James of Perry, Florida, Barbara Cannon of Perry, Florida, Susan Bennett of Minford, Ohio, and Joyce Smith of Piketon, Ohio.

His parents, brother, Nathanael "Jimmy" James; and grandfather, Earl Cranston James, preceded Nick in death.

He was a graduate of Waverly High School.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Lonnie Potts, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Denver Road, Waverly.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
