William Pierce Obituary
Bill graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1957, where he played football as well as competing in the long jump and hurdles. He was awarded a football scholarship to Georgetown University in Georgetown, Kentucky and played semi-pro football for the Dayton Triangles and Dayton Colts. After competing in sports, he became a referee for football and basketball and an umpire for baseball. He was a lifetime sports fan especially of The Ohio State University and Cleveland Browns. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He treasured his time with his wife, Glenda. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Brabson officiating. Burial will follow in Cottie's Corner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
