Richard Arthur Nath
Richard Arthur Nath, 66, of Clewiston and Sandusky, Ohio, died Aug. 16, 2007 in the Fisher Titus Memorial Center in Norwalk, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 8, 1941 in Sandusky, Ohio, to Elizabeth (Claus) and Harold Joseph Nath. He attended St. Mary"s Catholic School.
Mr. Nath was employed by Mark"s Pick-n-Pay, Scott Paper, Galloway Brothers, American Quality Shopping, and retired from Hoppers Home Center MHD Corp in January 2000.
He attended St. Margaret"s Catholic Church in Clewiston and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky, Ohio. He was a member and very active in the Men"s Auxiliary of the VFW Post 4185 in Clewiston and was a past member of the Oriole"s Club in Sandusky. He bowled in the Late Comers" League and also played dart ball in many leagues in the Sandusky area. He was an avid racing fan and drag raced at the Norwalk Speedway, drove stock cars on dirt and asphalt racing at the Fremont and Sandusky race tracks. He drove NASCAR at North Carolina"s Lowe"s Charlotte Speedway at the Richard Petty School with a top speed of 148 mph.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ida Mae (Herberger) Ruggles Nath; his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Nath of Clyde, Ohio; his mother, Elizabeth Nath of Sandusky; two sisters, Mary Ann (Kenny) Petz and Darlene Koehler, both of Sandusky; brother, Donald (Rose) Nath of Sandusky; his first wife, Susan Bilbrey of Clyde; stepdaughter, Loretta Ann (Rick) Sharp of Castalia, Ohio; stepson, George Allen (Beth) Ruggles of Sandusky; two granddaughters: Samantha Sharp of Castalia and Jessica Ruggles of Sandusky; three grandsons, George Allen Ruggles Jr. and Zachary Ruggles, both of Sandusky, and Austin Sharp of Castalia, and three great-grandsons, Samuel, Allen and Tyler Ruggles, all of Sandusky.
His father, Harold Joseph Nath, preceded him in death in 1974.
Friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Groff Funeral Home in Sandusky, Ohio. Prayers will be recited at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky. Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
