Christopher Dwight "Chris" Day

1983 - 2023

Christopher "Chris" Dwight Day, 39, of Jasper, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, March 31, 2023.
He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and uncle, and will be greatly missed. Chris was born October 23, 1983, at Harrison, to Ralph Dwight Day and Lori Darlene Collins.
Chris loved the outdoors and was always up for adventure, sometimes waiting until the adventure was over before telling his family. A moonlight canoe trip on the Buffalo, overnight horseback rides, escaping from a mountain lion and running from a bear are only a few of the stories he lived to tell. Hunting and fishing were Chris's favorite sports, and he also liked to trap. Recently, he, Dwight, and Grandpa Ralph, enjoyed several days and nights of fishing. So, meals of venison, turkey, and fish, were frequent for the family. His favorite saying was "Catch and release – into the grease." Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Day; and his maternal grandparents, Ivan and Grace Collins.
Survivors include his grandfather, Ralph Day of the home; his father and step-mother, Dwight and Kate Day of Jasper; his mother and step-father, Lori and Ron Flanagan of Ohio; four brothers, Heath Day of Harrison, Zackery (Mariah) McElroy of Heath, Ohio, SSG Cody (Amy) McElroy of El Paso, Texas, and Paul (Paige) Schuller of Little Rock; five sisters, Beth (Jody) Carson of North Little Rock, Lauren (Gilmar) Schuller of Little Rock, Krista (Ryan) Arthur of Newark, Ohio, Amanda (Laura) Longo of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Alisha (Shawn) Woods of Newark, Ohio; and extended family that loved him.

Pallbearers will be Justin Reddell, Jason Reddell, Scott Smith, Brett Eddings, David Dunlap, Tanner Gibson, and Hunter Guynn.
