Albert DeLucia Obituary

DeLucia Jr., Albert
Albert DeLucia Jr., 71 of East Haven passed away December 15, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born October 30, 1949 in New Haven to Albert and Rae (Passariello) DeLucia. Albert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Sharon (Hurlburt) DeLucia and two sons, Michael DeLucia (Kelly) of New Haven and Steven DeLucia (Michele) of East Haven along with five grandchildren he adored, Riley DeLucia, Avery DeLucia, Marchello DeLucia, Charlotte DeLucia and Ellerie DeLucia. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence DeLucia of North Haven and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Anthony "Butch" DeLucia.
Al was a licensed electrician for over 40 years working for Ed-Mor Electric and the Greater New Haven WPCA. He was a devoted father and grandfather. One of his greatest joys, besides spending time with his grandchildren, was taking trips to Mohegan Sun and Atlantic City with his wife Sharon. He was our family photographer and videographer who had made a video slideshow containg the year's family events for us to enjoy every New Years Day. Al had many hobbies and interests, too many to list. He was an avid metal-detector treasure hunter, gamer, home renovator, builder, mechanic, and above all, a master woodworker. He loved Science Fiction, especially Star Trek, and never missed an episode of his favorite show, The Curse of Oak Island. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.
A special "Thank You" to all the staff and nurses at the Smilow Cancer Center on Goose Lane in Guilford for their kind and compassionate care. All services are private at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven with private burial at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Donations may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center, 35 Park Street, New Haven, CT 06511 in memory of Albert DeLucia Jr.

Sharon, Mike & Steve, We are going to miss our good friend Al so much. Like the song he truly did 'light up our lives' and all the lives of those who knew him. The plain and simple truth was that we loved him. Janet & Gary
