Andrew Amuro Obituary

Amuro, Andrew A., Jr. Andrew Anthony Amuro, Jr., died May 17, 2011 in The Villages, FL. He was born August 23, 1932 to Andrew Amuro, Sr. and Helen Onyski-Amuro in New Haven, Connecticut. Andrew is survived by his two sons, Michael Amuro, Jr. (Lori) of North Branford, CT, Stephen Amuro of Middletown, Rhode Island. Fianc, Ann Shaffer of The Villages, FL. Andrew was predeceased by his wife, Joan Amuro. Sister, Joan Zarnetski and brother Robert Amuro. Andrew was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. A 1950 graduate of West Haven High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Bridgeport. Andrew loved to dance, play bocce ball and the game of Pinochle. As a gardener he took particular pride in his plants and bushes. For the Foxon Recreation League, East Haven, CT he was a coach and umpire. A materials manager for a steel company in Branford. Andrew moved to Florida from Connecticut in 2000. A visitation for Andrew will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL. A funeral service to honor Andrew will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7081 SE Hwy 42, Summerfield, FL. Memorial contributions may be directed to The American Heart Association, Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284. On-line condolences may be offered at www.hiers-baxley.com.
