My Uncle Sonny was always a favorite of mine, and even though I have lived away from Connecticut for the past forty plus years, I did get to visit him when I visited often to be with my Mom, his sister, and my Sister's family, and my many Aunts and Uncles.
I remember growing up I wanted to be called "Sonny" also, because of my love and admiration for my Uncle Sonny. He was always so kind and caring, and I know he called each one of his Sisters every morning to say hello for years and years. He meant a lot to me, and I am saddened to know of his passing. I always heard wonderful things about him, and when I was a youngster growing up I worried about him when he was in the Korean conflict.
I am blessed to have had him in my life, although long distance, and I wish much love and peace to his adoring wife, my Aunt Lena. I am so happy to have grown up with so many Aunts and Uncles and cousins. My wife Denise shares in the love we will always have for Sonny.
