ANITA ERRICO Obituary

ERRICO, ANITA G. Anita G. Errico, 88, of Branford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. For the past 64 years, she has been the devoted wife of Dr. Austin V. Errico. Born in New Haven on November 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Rita Magliano Gambardella. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Rita, John and Christopher Dwan and a granddaughter Tessa Errico. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Matthew Gambardella. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9 am in St. Mary’s Church, Branford. Burial of Ashes in St. Lawrence Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Dear Family of Anita, I was so sorry to recently learn of her passing. I have known Anita since I was 5 years old and she was the best friend of my sister Lucille, who then married Anita's cousin, Anthony DeMusis. My experience with Anita was always that of a very lovely woman. She was always kind, compassionate and gracious to one and all. She is someone I have treasured over a lifetime. I am certain she rests in the arms of our Lord.

It is with profound sadness that I offer my condolences to the Errico family,as I have learned today, of the recent passing of Mrs. Anita Errico.
I recall, with great fondness, her caring and supportive nature, genuine concern and compassion, and warm and inviting hospitality. I have many wonderful memories of spending time at Sunset Beach with my old friend Austin, and enjoying many pleasant conversations with Mrs. Errico. Whether we engaged in discussions of the day's matters or sought her advice on more important issues, she comported herself, always, with a gentleness of spirit and a warmth of heart. She was a jewel.
May she rest in peace and be welcomed by the angels in Heaven as one of their own.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Rick Panagrossi (Branford)

As a long-time friend of Austin, I send my condolences and support at this time. The gates of heaven certainly have welcomed this beautiful loving, caring and kind person. I always had immense admiration for her - the Errico family home was always that a true lovely home as a result of her constant efforts.
