Anne Mckeon Obituary

MCKEON, ANNE C.
Anne C. McKeon of North Haven passed away peacefully on March 2, 2021 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas P. McKeon to whom she was married for 59 years. She was also predeceased by her younger brother Anthony (Cal) Colavolpe. Anne was born in Hamden, Connecticut on May 16, 1941, the daughter of Anthony and Anna Proto Colavolpe. She was the loving mother of Thomas (Antoinette) McKeon, Christopher (Jacqueline) McKeon and Kerry Banks (David).
Anne was a graduate of Hamden High School Class of 1959. In earlier years, she was active with the North Haven Schools P.T.A. She was a parishioner at St. Francis Cabrini Church and a member of The North Haven Garden Club and The Mayflower Society. For forty-five years, Anne served as the North Haven Elderly Housing Director. While there, she formed deep connections with the residents and her colleagues. An avid bridge player, she also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen creating wonderful meals for her family. Anne is survived by her ten grandchildren (Kylie, Tess, Fallon, Katie, Caroline, Michael, Emma, Annie, Courtney and Claire), who she loved dearly. She also had countless lifelong friends that meant the world to her. Anne brought incredible joy, love and humor to so many and her cheerful attitude, bright smile and grace will be profoundly missed.
Anne's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful people at Connecticut Hospice who made Anne's final days peaceful and comfortable.
A mass of Christian Burial and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or www.hospice.com. I started as a tenant and became a friend. We often got together after I joined the Commission, meetings in and outside, lunches, a party or two, we had fun. She was beyond wonderful and always went above and beyond to help people. I moved away after 6 years but Anne was so dear to me and is still missed and always remembered.

My Thoughts and Prayers are w/ Anne’s family and close friends.
I’d like to acknowledge how wonderful it was to know her, for years Anne was kind enough to let me work for both senior buildings, her loyalty will never be forgotten.
Upon completing my work I would stop by Anne’s office and she would always ask about myself, family, and well being.
She was truly a friend and it was an honour and pleasure knowing her for nearly 20 years.
Rest in Eternal Peace Anne, thank you for everything over the years.

My Dear Friend Ann..........
We shared some great laughter together. You were always ready to lend a sympathetic ear to the problems of people. Always pleasant and hesitate to speak a negative word about anyone.
I shall miss you so very much.

I will see you one day.

Anne was a lovely high school classmate with whom I would reconnect at periodic class reunions. How wonderful that she had a long and fully-engaged life and left a legacy of ten treasured grandchildren. My condolences to the extended MvKeon family. I’m sorry for your loss, which is the HHS Class of 1959’s, too. May she Rest In Peace with the Lord.
